Sustainable Intelligent Agriculture

Use drones to optimise your farm operations and save money while creating a better future of food production.

Drones in the agriculture of the future

Do you want to get a birds eye view of your fields? Do you want to track crop health, drainage and even cattle? Do you want to know and track the effectiveness of various interventions?

Drones can help you do that. Cheap and effectively.

Monitor and track crop health.

With drone’s equipped with RGB and multispectral cameras we can track the health of your crops. And what’s better, once a treatment has been applied we can track the effectiveness of the treatment. This will increase the value of your fields and save you money on treatment since you can now treat precisely the crops that need it. With advanced sensors such as multispectral an assessment can even be made before the human eye can see any issues.

Livestock monitoring.

Do you have a large field where your livestock roams around. Do you want to know where they are or ensure that all are accounted for? And if not do you want to quickly and easily be able to track strays? If so drones with either regular RGB or thermal cameras can help with that.

Assess elevation differences.

Drones can be used to generate a digital surface model which provides a good overview of the variation in elevation throughout your land. This can help assess any drainage issues that might occur as well as predicting where spring frosts are likely to occur which is especially important for some kinds of agriculture such as viticulture.

Inspect individual plants.

One of the specialty’s of drone technology today is to stitch together potentially thousands of images into one highly detailed and geo-referenced map known as “orthomosaic”. These highly detailed maps can also be used to count individual plants and trees, to check pruning quality or simply to be able to see what’s going on inside the middle of a field.

And more…

I’m currently studying to become A2 certified which will allow me to fly bigger drones with bigger and more advanced sensors such as multispectral (for even better health tracking), thermal (for easier localisation of animals) and even actuators like sprays and other kinds of equipment.

Drones can help farmers increase yields, reduce inputs, and optimise the operations to extract maximum value from their fields.

*I’m mainly working with farms that are operating in a sustainable way this means being organic or at the very least trying to become organic is the minimum requirement from me.
